FALL SEMESTER 2008
The Graduate School does not have a deadline for processing applications. (Exception: International applicants must submit materials at least four months before the beginning of the semester for which they are applying.) Applicants should ascertain application deadlines by contacting the individual graduate program. Applications should be submitted as early as possible.
AUGUST
22-23 Friday-Saturday—arrival days for new students
24 Sunday —student registration deadline
25 Monday —classes begin
SEPTEMBER
1 Monday—Labor Day holiday
8 Monday—last date for a fall graduate to activate the intent to graduate on eLion
29 Monday—last date for a fall graduate to submit a draft of the doctoral thesis to the Thesis Office for format review
OCTOBER
1 Wednesday—last date for a fall graduate to submit a draft of the master's thesis to the Thesis Office for format review
6 Monday—last date for a fall graduate to pass final doctoral defense (dept. must return report form to Graduate Enrollment Services immediately)
NOVEMBER
3 Monday —nominations for the Harold F. Martin Graduate Assistant Outstanding Teaching Award, the Graduate Faculty Teaching Award, the Palmer Faculty Mentoring Award, the Graduate Program Chair Leadership Award, the Alumni Association Dissertation Award, the Rustum and Della Roy Innovation in Materials Research Award, and the Intercollege Graduate Student Outreach Achievement Award due in 313 Kern Bldg.
24 Monday—last date for fall graduate to submit final thesis to the Thesis Office or upload final eTD to the eTD Web site
24-28 Monday–Friday—Thanksgiving holiday
DECEMBER
12 Friday—classes end
15–19 Monday–Friday—final examinations
20 Saturday —Fall Commencement
