Dental Plan
In 2004-05, a group dental plan will be available to graduate assistants and fellows. It is not necessary to be enrolled in the GA/Fellows Insurance plan to purchase the dental plan. Beginning in 2005-06, the University will pay 80% of the premium for a dental plan for graduate assistants and fellows and 70% of the premium for spouses and children.
The dental plan provides coverage for a broad list of dental services. These services are divided into "preventive services," "basic services" and "major services." Preventive services are paid at 100% of charges, basic services are paid at 80% of charges and major services are covered at 60%. Participants receive the maximum benefit by using in network providers. There is an annual maximum of $1,000 applied separately to each covered participant. There is no coverage for orthodontics.
