Graduate Exhibition
Each year the Graduate School sponsors a major exhibition of graduate student research and artistic accomplishments. The Graduate Exhibition is held in March and features research poster presentations with emphasis on communicating research and scholarship to the general public, performances in the arts, and displays of visual art. All entries are evaluated by judges drawn from the University and local community, as well as by Penn State alumni. Approximately $10,000 in cash prizes is awarded, with first place prizes of $500. Perhaps more important than the possibility of an award is the opportunity for students to present their research and artistic achievements to the University and local community. Participants benefit from exchanging ideas with fellow students, faculty and staff from a wide range of disciplines. This is an event that all graduate students should plan to participate in at least once during their time at Penn State.
