Northeast Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate |
|||
The annual Science Day at the Northeast Alliance is a full day devoted to the discussion of the work of underrepresented students in math, science, engineering and technology, as well as the work of professors in these areas. There is a keynote speaker who presents not only his/her work, but also how it impacts graduate education for the students and institutions. There is also discussion of the challenges that underrepresented students face when attending predominantly white institutions. At this event, students and faculty members from the Alliance and partner institutions have many opportunities to network with scholars from across the country. One way, is at the poster session, which offers awards to the top student presenters. We strongly encourage all students from Alliance and partner schools to register and present their research. Students and mentors are encouraged to attend the annual Science Day on whatever campus it is held. Please visit this page often for more information on the 2006 Science Day, which will be held at The Pennsylvania State University April 30 - May 2, 2006. |
