University Park -- Welcome Social to be held September 1
New and continuing graduate students will have an opportunity to meet their colleagues from across campus and to visit with representatives of various University service units at the Graduate School Welcome Social to be held September 1. All graduate students are invited and encouraged to attend.
Nearly twenty organizations will be providing information to graduate students on the resources that are available to them. Among the organizations participating are Career Services, the University Libraries, Graduate Education and Research Services, the Center for Excellence in Writing, Statistical Consulting Center, Student Insurance Office, Center for Adult Learner Services, Center for Women Students, and more.
President Graham Spanier will also be on hand to welcome students. Joining him will be Eva Pell, Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School, and Abid Kazi, President of the Graduate Student Association.
The Graduate School Welcome Social will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the lobby of Kern Graduate Building. Students who would like to attend should reply to Dawn Nelson, dmn3@psu.edu. For more information, contact Mary Neff at 865-2516 or meh1@psu.edu.
