University Park -- Four Graduate Students Receive Fulbright Grants
Ph.D. students Brian A. Armstrong, Jeremy M. Koster, Christine Mahoney, and Deberniere J. Torrey are among the Penn State students who received Fulbright Grants this year.
The Fulbright Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills. In 1946, the United States Congress created the Fulbright Program and today, the U.S. Student Program annually awards approximately 1,000 grants to U.S. citizens to study overseas.
Brian (philosophy program) will be studying in Austria; Jeremy (anthropology) in Guatemala; Christine (political science) in the European Union; and Deberniere (comparative literature) in South Korea.
