Orientation Sessions for All New Graduate Students

University Park -- Orientation Sessions for All New Graduate Students

The Graduate School and International Student Services will be providing several orientation sessions in August for all new graduate students.

International Student Services will conduct orientation sessions for new international graduate students, August 21-28. On Tuesday, August 29, the Graduate School will sponsor a half-day orientation for all new graduate students, including new international graduate students.

The August 29 half-day orientation for all new graduate students will be held in the Forum Building from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and will be followed by the Graduate School Reception in the Kern Graduate Building at 5:30 p.m.

The sessions on the 29th will cover important topics, including research protections, academic information (e.g., plagiarism, committee selection, examinations, assistantship responsibilities), and health insurance. The health insurance session is mandatory for all new international graduate students. All graduate students, both international and domestic on any form of assistance administered through the University, are automatically enrolled in the graduate assistant benefits program that will be covered during this session. Also, University Health Services plans to have the capability of enrolling students on the spot during the half-day orientation at the Forum.

A more complete agenda for the half-day Graduate School orientation will be available in the coming weeks. Please visit International Student Services Web site for more information on orientation sessions for international graduate students.
