This message is from Kerry Bollman in Employment and Compensation:
2008 Maximum Weekly Benefit Rate for Unemployment Compensation
The maximum Weekly Benefit Rate (WBR) effective for claims filed on or after January 6, 2008, is $539 per week. This is up from $520 per week for 2007.
In addition to the $539 maximum WBR, a claimant may be eligible for an additional $5 per week for one dependent or for an additional $8 per week for two or more dependents (these amounts did not change).
Claimants who earn $13,413 or more during the highest quarter of the base year may qualify for the maximum weekly benefit of $539, provided they meet the other requirements to be financially eligible. The total liability for a claim at the maximum benefit rate with two or more dependents is $14,222 ($547 per week for 26 weeks).
